Note for teachers and group leaders

This experiment can set as a homework exercise to groups of students, or it can be carried out at a school or college, in which case the lookers and subjects should be in separate rooms, beyond the range of sight or hearing.  Families can try this out between different combinations of parents, children and siblings. Or any other groups can take part.

You can retrieve the details of your group’s tests in a detailed  table of data.

All you need  to do is give your group a name (minimum five letters). Then you ask the members of your group to register for the experiment  using this name. Say, for example, your group is called sphinx. Then all subjects register with sphinx as the first part of their pair name.  For instance, if one pair consists of James and Sharon, the name of their pair could be sphinxjs; if another pair consists of Martin and Cathy, their pair could be sphinxmc.
