Text Telepathy Test

Try Rupert Sheldrake's NEW text telepathy test!

Can you tell who’s texting you? To do this test, you need the help of three people you know well. Please make sure that they are ready and willing to take part, and let them know when the test is due to start. First you need to register, as explained below. Then the test starts with the system selecting one of your contacts at random and sending that person a message, asking him/her to text you by replying to the message. When the system receives the contact’s message, it sends you a text asking you to feel who the message is from. You send your guess to the system, and then receive the message.

After a random time interval, usually about 5 to 10 minutes, the system selects a contact at random again, and the process is repeated. (It could be the same person who was selected before). If one of your contacts cannot respond immediately, this does not matter. After 6 trials have been completed the test is over, and the system texts you to tell you your score. By chance guessing alone, your hit rate would be 2 out of 6.

If you do not complete a test by the time you or some of the participants want to go to bed, you can just leave it and resume the next morning. The system times out after 24 hours, so you do not have to complete it all by bed time.

Registration

When you have registered, the system will automatically generate a text message to confirm that your registration has been received. Also, the system will send out text messages to all your contacts confirming that you have registered for a test. They should not reply to this first message.

Do not send any more messages until you receive a message from the system prompting you to do so.

To stop the test at any time, text stop to the system’s number, 07950 081081.

Restarting a test

Once the test is complete, you can do another test at any time without re-registering by sending a text with the key word start to the system’s number, 07950 081081.

This will start a new test using the same contacts as in your previous test.

Troubleshooting
With some mobile phones, the "reply" function does not work with this system. This problem can be avoided by entering the system's number in the mobile phone's address book. With some mobile phones, the reply function will work once this number is in the address book. With others it will not, and it will be necessary to send the message using this number from the address book.
