Email Telepathy Test
Try Rupert Sheldrake's Email telepathy test!
Have you ever had the experience of knowing who's on the phone before you pick it up? Or have you thought about someone - maybe for the first time in a while - and soon afterwards an email arrives from that person? We want to find out if this is just a matter of coincidence, or whether telepathy is involved.
In this test you have three contacts, chosen by you, who are people you know well. In a series of six trials, one of these people is picked at random by the system and asked to send you an email by replying to the message from the system. The system then emails you and asks you to feel who the message is from. You send your guess, and then receive the message.
After a random time delay, usually not more than 10 minutes, the system then picks the next sender at random. (It could be the same person who was selected before.) If one of your contacts cannot respond immediately, this does not matter. This process is repeated until you have completed all six trials, when the test is over. The system sends you a message telling you your score. If you were guessing at random, you would be right about two times out of six.
The first thing you need to do is to ask three friends or family members to take part as senders. These should be people who are willing to check their emails fairly frequently while the test is going on. You then need to register, as explained below, giving your own name an email address, and your contacts’ names and email addresses. Please pick a time when your contacts will be free to take part and let them know when the test is due to start.
You and your senders need to be on separate computers. You can be in the same building, but not in the same room. You should not communicate with your senders while the test is going on.
Registration:
To register, click here . The test will start soon after your register.
When you have registered for the test the system will automatically generate a message to confirm that your registration has been received. Also, the system will send out a message to all your contacts confirming that you have registered for a test. They should not reply to this first message. Do not send any more messages until you receive a message from the system prompting you to do so.
To stop the test at any time, email stop to the system's email address.
Restarting a test:
Once the test is complete, you can do another test at any time without re-registering by sending a text with the key word start to the system’s email address. This will start a new test using the same contacts as in your previous test.
Problems:
This test has only recently been developed and it is possible that it still has some bugs in it. If you encounter any technical problems, please let me know by email what they are, giving as much detail as possible.
NOTE: There has been a recurrent problem with hotmail email addresses
because the hotmail system has spam filters which when set to a high
level exclude the messages from the experimental computer, based at
mobifi.com. The best way to prevent this happening is for everyone
involved in the test who has a hotmail address to go to the Mail
Options> Junk Mail>Safe list and add mobifi.com to the safe list,
which will allow emails from the mobifi system to reach their inbox.
